                        Skittles

    Over the years Skittles have become one of my favorite foods with there sweet fruity tasty. In which my mom and I shared together whenever we got them, it was are special treat for when ever we were together

   I made this by free handing the out line of all the Skittles, a problem I had was making them the right size. But I fixed this problem by comparing one Skittles to the Skittles next’s to it. Then I did the color with chalk pastel, and use the complementary colors to make the colors darker if need.  I found it was easy to get the color I need, with how it is so easy to blend with the pastel. I also found it was really easy to add on things if i did not see them

 the frist time.

Hercules

I will be making my next painting based off the movie Hercules. I will be showing the American culture through the character Hercules. With  going from a regular boy to a hero to a god. With each level representing the U.S. going into a reaction. With the Hero the American economy is good, the hero were still ok, and the regular boy not doing good at all. More to come.

Pastel

    This was my first time using pastel, it was easy to blend

color together to get the colors i need. but it was hard to

 make a sharp line, because of how the pastel smeared

 together so easy. i also learned that it is better to add

the lighter color then the darker color. Then when

doing the shadow it is not just one color like gray, but

it has not just that color but other color like purple.

    I think I have done a lot better job with pastel then did with charcoal. for one thing the sides look more even. I think the glare that is on the cross look really good, it makes the cross look more realistic. then there its the top with the ring the white form the  glare i think has helped to bring the color out around the ring. Then there is the lower half i think the shading is ok, but i think i made it a little to dark. And i need to make the bottom the cross more even with the top. Also i need to blend the shadow and the back round more, it is not faded right it just goes light to dark in some places.

Painting in Progress:Cross

I am just about to redo my back around again to show the different colors in the back around. I like how even thought my  back around is not even done yet and it has made my painting look so much better already.

  Thing That Need to be Fixed                                 I think there is a lot that need to be done wit my painting still. Not just the back round. But also the sides of the cross, the coloring is not right. Then also the sides are not straight, they look uneven and to thick. Also the blue blocks inside the cross have uneven sizes, and the line are not straight.

Charcoal

This has been my first time doing charcoal. I think i did a good job of getting the shade inside the cross, with how it fades form white to black in the right places. Also were the ring is I think looks pretty good, because with how you can tell it is standing out in front of the hole. But one think I noticed I could do for next time I work with charcoal, is that I need to make sure the different sides of my picture are even with each other. Also that I need to work all over the picture not just one spot at a time. That is what I think happened for the right side I did every thing else first and rushed on that side. Which made it disportionate.

I have decided to make my frist pieces of art work this year in IB art based off this cross. I got this cross from my Grandmother, it is very improtent to me because she has now passed away. And it has become something I can look at to remind me of her. Also because of the colors, with how they go from the dark blue to the light blue. Then there is how the blue has faded to the really light blue.

Artist Statement

        I hace always had a really deep interest in art. With the many different types of art and the different way that it is made. But also the use and meaning of art through they pieces.
       I have only done a few different types of art, one of them being drawing. Another thing i have done is a sill Life's and a variety of self-portoriats. some techniques I have used are shading, coloring, 2D and 3D perspective points of views.
       I have also done a few different things with clay. They have been simple peaces like bowls,cups, a vase, and different types of trays. Some techniques I have used are cross hatching and scoring
       I would like to move forward with my understanding and ability to do thy works. I would also like to achieve a better understanding of other types of art but also how you can add more meaning to a peace and how to find that meaning. At the end of this class I want to hace I five of higher. I think this is a good goal because, I know I will enjoy this class I and I will work hard to have that grade.
